Dear parents of kindergarten 2023 students,
As we prepare to welcome your child to the OLGC school community we would like to communicate some important messages and dates for you to note. Please ensure you read all details carefully.
T-shirt delivery for your child

We have delivered the T-shirts to the early learning centres for distribution. If you have not received it, please let us know by emailing olgc@dbb.catholic.edu.au
The t-shirt is a gift from OLGC Forestville.
We encourage your child to wear the t-shirt when they are out and about in the community and to the school transition sessions.
Kindergarten school transition session dates
We would encourage your child to wear the t-shirt when they attend the 3 school transition sessions. There is no need to bring anything to the sessions. Water will be provided for the students if they require a drink at any stage.
These sessions are designed exclusively for kindergarten 2023 students. Please note parents are NOT required to attend.
We have planned 3 Kindergarten transition sessions starting at 9.30am ( please register at 9.25am) and concluding at 11am on the following dates:
- Thursday, November 10
- Wednesday, November 23
- Tuesday, December 6
A parent or carer is invited to drop their Kindergarten 2023 child off at the school hall for registration at 9.25 am and then return after the 1.5hr session.
Please note, that if your child attends the OLGC Early Learning Centre adjacent to the school on any of the above dates we will arrange for your child to be dropped and collected from the school hall by staff at the centre. The OLGC ELC learning team will be in touch with you regarding permission for this to occur closer to the dates.
There is NO NEED for you to RSVP to the sessions if your child CAN attend.
Please email olgc@dbb.catholic.edu.au if your child CAN NOT attend any of the sessions.
We strongly encourage your child to attend all 3 sessions to ensure they have the opportunity to become familiar with the school, and kindergarten teaching team and meet some of the other students who will be in their class.
Best Start Dates
Prior to your child starting at OLGC we will be contacting you to book into a 40 minute Best Start session with their kindergarten teacher. The Best Start session is a 40 minute one on one session with your child so that the teaching staff can get to know your child and their learning style before the school year begins. The dates for the Best Start sessions for kindy will be held over 3 days. Your child will only need to attend one 40 minute Best Start session on one of the dates below.
- Monday, January 30 or
- Tuesday, January 31 or
- Wednesday, February 1
The times and bookings links will be sent out to parents at a later date.
First Day of Kindergarten
The first day of Kindergarten 2023 at OLGC will be Thursday, February 2 2023.
It is an exciting time as we prepare your child for their first day of school in 2023.
