WHY IS THE CARNIVAL HELD SO EARLY IN THE SCHOOL TERM?
The carnival date is based around the next rounds of competition across the Diocese. We want our students to have the opportunity to take part in cluster, Diocesan, State and so on, should they qualify. The next round of competition is held a few weeks after the OLGC Carnival.
Students must wear their sports uniform including shoes and socks. Students are to wear swimmers under their uniform. Clothing in house colours is permitted.
Colour Houses are allocated by the school for each enrolled child. Please contact the school if you are not sure which house your child belongs to.
Bass – Green
Flinders – Yellow
WHAT TO BRING:
Packed recess and lunch. The Aquatic Centre canteen is NOT available to students.
PLEASE NOTE: Coloured hair spray or streamers are NOT permitted by the Aquatic centre.
All students will be transported by bus from school to the venue. Please arrive to school on time prior to 8:45am. Only parent volunteers are permitted to transport their child to and from the venue. NORTHERN BEACHES SWIMMING CARNIVAL:
The Northern Beaches Swimming Carnival is made up of several schools around the area. Students who record a time that makes them eligible for the Northern Beaches Carnival will proceed further. Please note children cannot proceed to the Northern Beaches Carnival in an event unless they swim in the 50m race for that event. They must be in the 8 year’s event to compete in that carnival (those in 7’s will not be eligible.)
The swimming carnival is a wonderful school sporting event where the students are encouraged to take part in the day and show excellent sportsmanship as they cheer and support their friends and classmates. Please encourage your child to enjoy the day and try their best.
