Parent & Parish News Week 4, Term 2 2025

Parish News

THANK YOU to everyone who helped make our last Family Mass on Saturday, 10 May such a joyful occasion. It was a celebration filled with music and community spirit. A special thank you to those who brought along delicious food and treats, and to the wonderful staff who came to support the evening.

We look forward to gathering again for our next Family Mass on Saturday, 14 June.

First Eucharist Program

This week, children in Year 4 and above begin their journey in the First Eucharist program, with lessons starting this weekend.

As a parish community, we keep all the children preparing for their First Holy Communion on Saturday, 21 June in our prayers.

Volunteers Needed

Frenchs Forest Catholic Parish is a vibrant and welcoming community, enriched by the dedication of our amazing volunteers. As our parish continues to grow, we are seeking more helping hands to support our ageing volunteer base.

We are especially looking for volunteers to assist with:

  • Church Cleaning – ideally a small group of parents or families who can commit to cleaning once every couple of months at a time that suits them.
  • Garden Maintenance – to help keep our parish grounds looking beautiful.

If you’re interested in getting involved, we’d love to hear from you!

Religious Creative Arts Competition 2025

🎨 Theme: WITNESS
“You will receive power from the Holy Spirit, and you will be my witnesses” (Acts 1:8)

The Religious Creative Arts Competition is a long-standing event within Catholic Schools Broken Bay, now in its 12th year. It celebrates the talents of students across five creative categories:

  • Visual Arts
  • Dance
  • Drama
  • Music
  • Short Film

Students will plan and develop their entries during Terms 2 and 3, with submissions due by Friday, 29 August (Week 6, Term 3).

🎤 Showcase Night:
Finalists will perform alongside industry professionals at the Hornsby RSL, 5:30pm on Wednesday, 12 November 2025.

A key element of the competition is how students express their understanding of the theme. In 2025, students are asked to reflect on:

“How is this theme lived out or demonstrated today?”

We’re excited to see the creativity and faith of our students shine once again this year.

For any questions about the competition, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

Prayer for Witnessing Faith

Heavenly Father,

Thank you for the gift of faith and the light of Your truth that guides my path. I come before You today with a humble heart, asking for the strength and courage to be a faithful witness of Your love in this world.

Help me to live in a way that reflects Your grace—through my words, my actions, and my compassion. Let my life be a testimony of Your goodness, so that others may see You through me.

When I encounter doubt, give me wisdom. When I face opposition, grant me peace. When I feel weak, fill me with Your Spirit, that I may stand firm in faith and shine brightly in the darkness.

Use me, Lord, as a vessel of Your hope. May I speak truth with gentleness, serve with joy, and love without condition. Let my life point others to the cross, where mercy and redemption flow freely.

In Jesus’ name I pray,
Amen.
