🧦 Socktober: Warming Hearts, One Step at a Time

As October rolls in, so does the spirit of giving – and what better way to give than by joining the Socktober movement? What started as a simple idea to collect socks for those in need has grown into a global campaign of compassion, action, and hope.

This year, we turn our hearts to Zambia – a landlocked gem in southern Africa, known for its breathtaking landscapes, from the thunderous Victoria Falls to the vast plains teeming with wildlife. Zambia is not only rich in natural beauty but also in culture, community, and resilience. Its people are warm, welcoming, and deeply rooted in tradition.

Yet, beneath this vibrant surface lies a pressing challenge: a growing hunger crisis that affects millions, particularly in rural communities. Families are struggling to put food on the table, and children are going to school on empty stomachs. The need is urgent, and the time to act is now.

How Can You Help?

This Socktober, we’re inviting you to be part of something bigger. By donating, raising funds, or spreading awareness, you’re not just offering warmth—you’re offering dignity, hope, and a reminder that someone cares.

Your support can help provide:

  • Nutritious meals for children in Zambian schools
  • Essential clothing and hygiene items for families in need
  • Resources for sustainable farming and food security programs

Let’s make every step count. Whether it’s a pair of socks or a heartfelt donation, your contribution can bring comfort to communities facing hardship and help build a brighter future for Zambia’s children.

Join us this Socktober, because no one should go cold—or hungry

Sacrament Program

💒 Family Mass: A Celebration of Faith and Togetherness

Shout Out!!

Thank you so much for joining us at Mass on Saturday night. It was truly heartwarming as so many of you come together in faith and fellowship. Your presence helped create a beautiful sense of community, and we are grateful for your continued support and involvement.

Moments like these remind us of the strength and spirit of our school family. We look forward to sharing many more meaningful experiences with you throughout the year.

Reminders

We warmly invite you to join us for Family Mass—a cherished time where faith, family, and fellowship come together in a joyful celebration.

Family Mass is more than just a prayerful experience. It’s a space where:

  • Children feel welcomed and engaged in worship
  • Parents find encouragement and connection
  • Grandparents share wisdom and tradition
  • Neighbours become friends, and friends become family

In a world that often pulls us in different directions, Family Mass offers a moment to pause, reflect, and reconnect—not only with God, but with one another. It’s a place where laughter echoes, prayers rise, and hearts unite.

Whether you’re new to our parish or have been part of it for years, your presence enriches our community. Together, we build a church that’s vibrant, inclusive, and rooted in love.

This term, our Family Masses are:

  • Saturday, 13 December at 5:30pm

Come as you are. Come with your family. Come and be part of something beautiful.

🙏 Confirmation this weekend 🌟

As we approach Saturday, 8 November, we hold in our hearts a very special group within our community – our Confirmation candidates, who will be receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation on this sacred day.

This milestone marks a deepening of their faith and a powerful outpouring of the Holy Spirit. It is a moment of grace, courage, and commitment as they step forward to affirm their baptismal promises and embrace their role as full members of the Church.

Let us come together in prayer and support:

  • That they may be strengthened by the gifts of the Holy Spirit
  • That their hearts remain open to God’s call
  • That they feel the love and encouragement of our parish community

We invite you to keep these children in your prayers this week. May their journey be filled with joy, wisdom, and a lasting sense of belonging in the Body of Christ.

Kind regards,
Allison Castilho
