Religious Education

At Our Lady of Good Counsel the teaching of Religious Education is a high priority.

The children receive two and a half hours of religious instruction each week. Activities include the teaching of formal and informal prayers, liturgical seasons of the church, reading and interpreting scripture and developing an understanding of Catholic doctrine. All activities are age appropriate and are taught in accordance with the Diocese of Broken Bay K-12 Religious Education Outcomes.

In Year Three the children receive the Sacrament of Confirmation and then in Year Four they receive the Sacraments of Reconciliation and Eucharist. Whilst the school teaches the children about the Sacraments, it remains the responsibility of the parish to prepare them for the reception of these Sacraments. Parents are also required to journey with their children during this time of preparation.

In choosing to send your child to Our Lady of Good Counsel School you will be providing them with every opportunity to be immersed in the Catholic tradition.
