School Uniform

OLGC School Uniform and Presentation Expectations

At Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic School, part of being a Respectful Learner includes the expectation that we care for our appearance. This means wearing our school uniform with pride and maintaining neat grooming.

Personal presentation, including uniform and presentation, reflects not only the individual but also our school community. A consistent and respectful approach to uniform and presentation helps build belonging, pride, and equity among students. Research proves that whole-school consistency of uniform and presentation should form part of school wide behavioural routines.

Wearing the correct school uniform and presenting oneself appropriately is important because:

  • It promotes belonging and pride in the school community.
  • It promotes fairness and mutual respect, helping students feel confident and contributing to a positive school environment
  • It promotes positive behaviour– correct uniform is a behaviour policy, not solely a uniform policy.
  • It ensures the safety of all students.

All students are expected to wear the correct and complete OLGC uniform each day, including appropriate grooming, hair, jewellery, and accessories. These expectations are not intended to limit individuality, but to promote community and uphold high standards and are in line the CSBB enrolment agreement ‘I agree to support CSBB and School procedures and policies in relation to the program of studies, student behaviour, sport, pastoral care, school uniform, discipline and the overall operations of the school.’

Second Hand Uniform Shop Opening Hours

Regular opening hours are Wednesdays before and after school: 8:30 – 9:15am and 2:45 – 3:30pm.

The shop is run kindly by our parent volunteer, Silvana Mares.

To speed up the process of purchasing second hand items we encourage parents to place an order by clicking HERE or via email to the school office olgc@dbb.catholic.edu.au on the order form above. When the order is ready you will be phoned to provide your credit card details. The order will be sent home with your eldest child.

Purchasing good quality second hand uniform items enables parents to purchase uniform items at a reduced price whilst still fulfilling the uniform requirements.

The second hand uniform shop is located next door to the school office at the front of the school.

Uniform Donations

If you have uniform items which your children have outgrown, please drop them to the front office (give them a wash first!). They will be resold through the second hand uniform shop and all money raised goes directly back to the school via the P&F. Donations are needed for most items sized 8 and larger.

Please note that the second-hand uniform shop does not sell items on behalf of parents. All items have been kindly donated by OLGC families.
