A warm welcome back to all members of our community, and a special greeting to the new families joining us this year. We are truly blessed to belong to such a generous and lifegiving community within the Parish of Frenchs Forest.
Thank you to the staff, parents, and students for welcoming me so openly. I look forward to working alongside you so that every person feels valued, supported, and cherished as a member of our community.
We remain deeply grateful for the guidance of Father Satheesh, our Parish Priest, and for the support of our Assistant Priests, Father Boby and Father Biju. We also acknowledge with appreciation the leadership of Susanne Bragg, our Sacramental Coordinator.
We are delighted to welcome Wanda Almeida – please see flyer below, as our new Parent Engagement Coordinator, and we look forward to the energy and insight she will bring to our community.
As we begin this new year together, we look forward to partnering with you and your children as they continue to grow academically, spiritually, and as valued members of our community.

On Friday 13 February at 9:10 am, we will gather as a school community to commemorate the beginning of a new school year. Father Satheesh will be presiding over the Mass.
During our Opening School Mass, we will welcome all families, especially those who are new to Our Lady of Good Counsel. Our 2026 Year 6 Leaders will be presented with their badges, and they, together with their parents, will pledge their commitment to serve with an open heart.
Parents will also commit to supporting their children as they develop their leadership skills with integrity and care.
Everyone is most welcome to join us as we begin the school year and ask Mary to guide us throughout the year.

Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of Lent, a significant time in the Church calendar. Students in Years 2–6 will join the parish community for the 9:15 am Mass, where they will receive ashes on their foreheads as a reminder of God’s everlasting love.
Students in Kindergarten to Year 1 will participate in a special liturgy in their classrooms and will also receive ashes with their teacher.
As a school community, we also begin our support for Project Compassion. Each year, Caritas Australia raises funds to help communities in need, and this year they invite us to unite against poverty. We look forward to working together in the spirit of compassion and generosity throughout Lent.
God bless,
Tanya Fitzpatrick
