Mission and Parish News Week 8

Please feel invited to come along and be part of the many festive celebrations in the weeks ahead.

Our Christmas Bonanza Evening

Join us for a delightful opportunity to have fun and prepare for Christmas. Watch our talented children perform, socialise with others, enjoy a picnic together. We are so lucky to have our parish youth group who will be holding a sausage sizzle on the night.  Please come and support this amazing group of young people who contribute significantly to our community.

Parents’ Painting Afternoon – Monday, 11 December

Calling all parents and carers! Join us for a fun afternoon of painting as we embrace our new play-based Religious Education Curriculum for Kindy – Year 2. We have some wonderful peg dolls that need painting. No painting skills are needed; just come along for some afternoon tea, camaraderie, and enjoyment. Meet us in the D3 Classroom at 2 pm – 3 pm for painting and a chat. Please RSVP via this link https://forms.gle/EdcccG6SkGXPJVko7

Christmas Eve Family Mass

We would like to invite families to join us for Christmas Vigil Mass. It is traditionally a family mass where children are invited to be part of the special celebrations.

At this Family Mass the children present a Nativity play as part of the Vigil celebration. There are roles for readers, angels, shepherds, stable animals and presenters of the Nativity crib scene and Gospel. We also need readers for Prayers of the Faithful. All ages are most welcome.

If your family is thinking of joining us for mass on Christmas eve and would like to be part of the Nativity, please contact Susanne Bragge.

Our senior students Advent Calendar Activity.

The senior students have been working on creating their own advent calendar to incorporate the festive season and ensuring that we all remain mindful of the underlying meaning of Christmas offering peace, love and kindness in our community.   The Advent Calendar below has been made by Jade C. It is a lovely example of the activity in place.

Painting

Thank you to our ex-students, Lilian Hamilton, Juliet McWilliam & Alice Barry who joyfully helping Ms Houston to prepare our glorious materials for the new curriculum.

Next year, Year Two will be jumping on board with this curriculum and bringing the scripture to life through storytelling. The ex-students warned the hearts of all as they demonstrated true discipleship, stewardship and their love of being back in their Primary amongst their old teachers.

We welcome them back with open arms and thank them immensely.

Peace and blessings to you and your family,

Susanne Bragge – Parent Engagement Coordinator

Allison Houston – Religious Education Coordinator

Steve Foresto – Mini Vinnies Coordinator
